Mitt Romney and “Say Anything 2012″

I constantly make a joke about how I envy the Republican Party because they had a great allegiance to whoever was on their ticket.  Many liberals would debate about who was best for America itself while many Republicans would support who ever had a (R) next to their name in solidarity for the party. I even felt that they would support whoever was running on the Republican ticket even if it was a puppy. The last week or so we have gotta admit hasn’t been the best for one Mitt Romney. People can try to spin it anyway they want but he has made two huge public gaffes that even an amateur politician wouldn’t have made.  Mitt Romney has decided to do a campaign slogan that is one of a different nature. He has decided to novel campaign strategy called “Say Anything 2012”.

Mitt feels that the best way for him to win is for him to say anything and to be the first person to say it.  He is acting like this presidency is like a campaign to get in a woman’s pants. Mitt just knows that at some point that if he says the right things at the right time and the woman (the American people) are drunk enough maybe he can win the election and get some (the White House).

Mitt’s first gaff was his response to the attacks on the Egyptian and Libyan embassy attacks. The Libyan attacks resulted in four diplomats tragically being killed. These protests and disturbances were in reference to a controversial video by Koran burning teacher Terry Jones where he was going to put the prophet Muhammad in a very ill light. Instead of displaying solidarity for what happen to the American diplomats Mitt decided it would be a great occasion for  “Say Anything 2012” moniker when he released a statement criticizing the president before any details had been delivered.  He said:

“The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.”

Romney’s statement especially him referring to “American Values” was made off a statement delivered from the Cairo Embassy on their stance about the situation BEFORE the attack/protests happened As Homer Simpson would say “Dooh!” Yeah he didn’t get all the information about the protests beforehand. He thought the statement was made after the Cairo embassy was already breached. Romney showed his inability to understand foreign policy and just wanting to bark at anything and continue his “Say Anything 2012”. Many GOP came down on Romney for this but yet in still many defend him nonetheless because that’s what the GOP does right? We ride for the party… “Puppy 2012”

Oh, that wasn’t enough for one Mitt Romney yesterday he goes out and takes “Say Anything 2012” another level. Considering how bad the economy is right and people struggling to get what the GOP says everyone can achieve the proverbial “American Dream he says “47 % percent of American’s are victims”. How did he get 47%? What research did he do about this? Did he poll people and ask if they felt they were victims?  What about all the Americans going out here grinding everyday while the people who are claiming victim the most many times have the most? He just came up with an obtuse number in his head because you know what he has to keep his campaign slogan of “Say Anything 2012” going. Mitt in that comment sounded like the dude in the barbershop who says “ Bruh, I bet you 82% of chicks would have sex with Nicki Minaj if giving the opportunity”

I will be the first to admit I am not too enamored with the political process because I see so much bull from both sides. I am not like any of those trite black church leaders who are telling their parishioners to not go vote (which I think is covert form of propaganda combined with the voter disenfranchisement happening across the country). I will vote because it is something that many people gave up their lives for me to have the opportunity to cast a vote. But, I gotta say that it is no way I understand how someone could seriously considering hitching their wagon to Romney and his “Say Anything 2012”. As I have said above he really believes that just saying anything is the way you need to run the country. These two gaffs I have seen many Conservatives even shake their head at but for many they still keep pressing on thinking that Romney is the man for the job because they have to support whoever is running for the party even if it is a puppy.  And just like a puppy Romney loves to just bark at anything because he HAS to keep up the campaign sentiment of “Say Anything 2012”. No candidate is going to say and do all the things we believe we should do all the time but I know that I laugh because I definitely not feeling a president that “will just say anything.” If someone wants to support Romney that’s your democratic choice but if you don’t have a rational reason.  I get you are down with the party till the end because of their “conservative” ideas and “fiscal financial responsibility. But, don’t you have to question after Romney has repeatedly invoked his “Say Anything 2012”?  If you can’t sit there and really question him I gotta believe you are one of those people like many in the GOP who would support a puppy and his campaign slogan of “Ruff Ruff 2012”.

  1. You liberals and yall blind love for Obama just don’t get that this man is tearing this country apart everyday he is in office. We as black people have to quit having blind loyalty to the Democratic party and to this man just cause he is black

    • I didn’t even mention in the piece anything about Obama besides Mitt’s quick comentary on his adminstration before receiving all the facts. I never said who I was voting for. You black conservatives can really be a sensitive bunch

      • You don’t have to say where your allegiance lies. You can read all through your blog and know you support Obama and are very liberal in your ideas. You have no couth and morals and people like you have allowed the black people to go down more. This blond faith in the Demos and in Black Jesus Obama is what will take things so much farther down for our communities

        • First off I appreciate you reading through my posts…I really do! But since you have read through most of my posts have you seen my ideals of self accountability and striving for things on your own and understanding that power is in your hands? If you want to talk about my views on the BS hypocritical and puritanical ideal that many people have in this country than like Redman I’ll be that. I am always going to speak on the BS dichotomy that we have politically and socially in this country. You have yet to speak to the BS that Mitt Romney is spewing out about his say Anything 2012!

          • No display your writing as balanced, “rational”, and about free thought when you really promote unethical practices. The same practices that keep white america thinking what they already think about us. We have to start having more respect for ourselves that we had in the past. We have to start making our women have better values and better faith in God. Not what has gotten us where we are now. Obama doesn’t represent anything but a hip hop generations hero and black folk are just happy to see a black face there. They aren’t looking at what’s going on in this government. The only way we can become better is take our teet off the american govenment

            • Ummm….No one else has the ability to MAKE me do anything especially when it comes to my faith!!!! NO ONE!!!! So Mr. IRRational Speckled Conservative please, please keep your caveman thoughts in your head!!!

              • I have no cavemen thoughts! I have Christian vlaues of life that more men and women in this world need. I believe a woman should conduct herself in a certain way if she wishes to get a good man. Believing that our values have not going to drivel in the black community is our problem. We are scared of Conservative view point because we have become so innudated into the Democratuic party that they know they are getting our votes so they can give us more hand outs

    • I am a Obama supporter and you can call me whatever you like! But let’s just say I decide to vote for Romney, what will he do that will make this country any better??????

      • He will get start to put more self responsibilty into America and take America to a day where people worked hard for what they wnated

        • Uh!!! No one person can change the attitude of the masses!!!! Who is Hitler?! I am sorry but Mittens cannot change anyone’s though process!!! Moreover the majority of the people in this country DO actually work hard for their dreams and have self responsibility. Why do you think these same people are no retired and is collecting a pension for this work. The only thing Mittens will do is outsource more of jobs to third world countries.

  2. My opinion, both parties are run by the same powerful people! It’s almost like gambling who has the most chips! But in the end the Owner of the Casino still wins…

  3. Yes what Mittens said was extremely DUMB!!!! But what more do you expect from him. He’s not smarter than his words. Us Michiganders don’t even like him!!! In the words of Mittens “Let ‘em fail!!” Surely Mittens will do just what he wanted to happen to his home state!

  4. Rational Black Conservative should probably read “Irrational.” George W. Bush did not tear this country apart, neither will Barack Obama. The dramatic nature of a person that calls himself, ‘rational’ is quite the opposite. Chuck Norris said that Barack Obama’s re-election will result in ‘a thousand years of darkness.’ Seriously?! When a person is so dramatic to gnash and flail as if all is lost, when you lose and you are lying on the floor, when do you decide there on the floor that it is okay, and you can get up and move on? When that moment comes then let us talk rationally. Correctly stated previously, President Obama was not mentioned in the article.
Governor Romney is having a challenging campaign from a flat performance in the Republican National Convention that had no bump in the polls. In addition to that, Mr. Romney is not well liked in his party or by the country in general while Mr. Obama still holds a significant edge on likability. If you need evidence the Gallup and Pew Research polls have the quantitative data to support this claim. Mr. Romney is even losing ground on his ability to handle the economy which was one of his few edges in this election campaign according to the latest NY Times/CBS Poll. Wherever anyone is politically, the race is still close but the president has an edge. More than a comment is needed on the state of the race but the idea and evidence of the gaffe prone challenger in Mr. Romney challenging the incumbent Mr. Obama is upheld, he will say almost anything except what his policies are. “The assertion that you are more competent than President Obama strikes many people as merely that—an assertion. It would be supported by your speaking in more detail about a range of financial issues,” Peter Hansen, Weekly Standard. So there you have it from one of your own, Mr. Romney is not talking about policy but empty platitudes and the assumption is he will be just like Bush cutting taxes for the rich and increasing the Child Tax Credit to make his tax cuts palatable as if he is not just for the rich. Either that or cut services for poor people because another round of tax cuts for the rich will worsen the economic outlook. And keep in mind many rich people do not pay taxes either.
Critiquing Darryl, Romney says anything, but things of substance. Black Conservative you are not rational. Otherwise good thoughts and article reflecting on the state of the Romney Campaign.

    • What has Obama did for the economy? Black People? Poor People? What has he done to infuse any energy into this economy. He made a faulty universal health care plan though didn’t he. Is Romney the answer he isn’t at all BUT he can bring some stablization to this economy and bring back some better values to this country besides the hip hop gang banger mentality that has taken it over

      • Hip Hop gang banger? Wow!!! I see you aren’t truly who you say you are!!!! Come on now IRRATIONAL, you are not BLACK!!!!! We all know the truth!!! Actually what you call Obamacare truly is Romneycare. Do your research!!!!

        • Romney realized that his plan was wrong and that many tweeks need to happen to it. Obamacare didn’t take any lessons from Romney’s process. Obama doesn’t have this country and most black people’s ideas at heart. Hip Hop has been the scurge of the black community. You cannot deny that. Thats why we have our women asses shaking everywhere and our men shooting up bars because of trying to idenitfy with that. We need to start identify more with the Christian based values that we had in the 50s and 60s

          • You mean the same Christian values of the people had that put us in slavery in segregation right? You talking about that past. I, myself am not trying to go into that past RBC. I am not ish on Christianity but lets not act like things were peachy and were were all singing we chall overcome in the Black community everywhere.

  5. Nice read. I was born and raised a republican but have never voted for one and Willard (his mama call him Willard I’m gonna call him Willard) Romney won’t get my vote. Republicans still owe the whole country an apology for trying to hustle our votes with S.Palin but you know how republicans feel about apologizing. The Coke brothers making it rain on Republicans in efforts to buy policy also isn’t a good look. Willard Romney hasn’t said what his plans are, he just simply says he can do better while playing both sides of issues and policy never taking a firm stand on anything. 51% of Americans will believe anything a white man in a suit says, the rest of us know better. See how I did that? I can be president if Willard can, at least I’m Christian Haha! But seriously, corporations been running Republicans since the Regan Era, I want my party back. These Republicans suck.

  6. Governor Romney’s response about the 47% is what he believes — like it or not. For those who believe in the policies of President Obama, they have to believe heavily in big government. What Romney’s statements about the 47% should do for the American people is help us to begin a national discourse about whether we want big government or limited government. Personally, I prefer limited government. While I would have articulated what Romney said about the 47% differently, I do support the core of his message. It’s true that the 47% is not going to vote for him because it loves the big government policies Obama advocates for and has implemented. The 47%, of course, is not going to vote for a man who promises limited government like Governor Romney does. His statements on this issue of the 47% represents a classic clash of visions about the role of government: President Obama has a vision of the role of government that is massive and Governor Romney has a vision of the role of government that is much more limited.
